Walkers and Cyclists are welcome to this page and to stay with us. Porthleven is ideally located for exploring this part of south west Cornwall and we are well served by the busses if you want to forget about the car. The coast path runs through the village. So just step out of your door and go.

When we are not working there is nothing we like better that to get out and about in our local coast and countryside either on foot or with the bikes. We have walked aplenty inland and on the coast path from Falmouth to Perranporth with only a couple of gaps in to yet do. Our favourite local books are the Classic Walks Cornwall 1 & 2, which are circular routes of coast and inland walks from about 2 to 7 miles. Backed up with an OS map. OS Explorer Maps 102 and 103 cover our area including The Lizard and Lands End.

Biking, we do have some undulating conditions, but this makes the countryside you see all the better. With many sites that remain hidden from the main roads. If you like a bit of off-road trails then the "Great Flat Lode" is a must. We have even in the past devised and organised bike rides, 65 and 100 miles for the Audax/CTC calendar and have an excellent knowledge of all the local roads and lanes. Being cyclists we also have a place to store your bike and some workshop tools if required. Most Sunday mornings one of us goes for an easy 1 - 1 1/2 hr spin and you are welcome to join. If you do not have your bike then MTB cycle hire is available in the village. Prices for 2010 are adults £20 or youths £18 per day and £75 or £65 per week. Trailer bikes for the nippers can also be hired. (Price includes insurance, helmets, locks and route maps)

What ever your holiday ideas, we are here to help you make the most of them.
