The following are the principal areas of concern for Young People
- A vision for the development of work with young people in the Parish.
- A concern for the Christian nurture of young people in the Parish.
- Practical support for the Young People's Worker, particularly with the selection, training
and pastoral care of a youth team.
- Links with local schools, the local college of further education and youth groups
at other churches.
- The provision of suitable facilities for youth activities.
- The implementation and monitoring of the youth health and safety policy.
- Ensuring that the young people's activities form an integral part of church
life at St Francis.
- Uniformed Organisations
it should be noted that the Church as the sponsoring body of the Ist WGC Scout Group shares
responsibility with them according to
their Constitution.
The Youth Committee meets regularly and the following gives you some idea of
current issues
 | Refurbished cellar.
 | This facility is now up-and-running and provides the young people with
an excellent meeting place during Youth Club evenings and other times. |
|
 | 9-14's Youth Group.
 | This group has now grown in numbers to 49 registered children but we
now have between 25-30 regular attendees. |
 | Each Sunday there is a dedicated 'slot' for Christian teaching which goes well. |
 | Creative craft work is now a regular feature of work with the youngsters. |
 | Discussions have taken place around taking the group away on a residential weekend/one night stay.
 | The aim of this would be as well as making it fun with lots of
activities. |
 | There would be Christian teaching and discussions within the programme. |
