Counselling Course
Level 2 Certificate in Introduction to Counselling Skills.
A stand-alone taster for anyone who might be interested in counselling training or is interested in helping others this course is aimed at those aspiring to further develop listening and helping skills already used in everyday life & offers the opportunity to achieve a nationally recognised qualification.
It is intended for candidates who wish to develop their listening skills in order to:
- improve communication
- improve existing work roles
- enhance personal relationships
- improve collegial relationships within workplace teams
- enhance helping relationships
- promote better community relations.
You may already work as a volunteer or an employee in the community.
You will be introduced to some basic counselling concepts through the seven units of study. Your learning will be through group discussion, tutor input, skills practice and personal reflection.
The course will run over nine sessions of four hours each, making a total of 36 hours. You will have a course folder to record your learning and there will be an external assessment. No previous training is required.
