FAQ's
Is an Interim committed to my company?
An Interim is probably more committed to your company than
an employee, an Interim has a reputation to consider and sees
the resolution of what has been an intractable problem as an
intellectual challenge.
If we, who are deeply involved in this business, cannot find a
resolution why should a stranger be anymore successful?
An experienced and successful Interim will have seen
similar situations, will have the intellectual ability to
rapidly analyse, probably from a different perspective, and
propose paths to a solution.
At a time when we are not performing well, won't an Interim
be just another unwelcome expense?
I have achieved improvements in performance that have been
an order of magnitude greater than my cost to a company.
Won't an Interim tell us what we already know and the leave
us to solve the problem?
One aspect of an Interim's observation is to determine the
views of all involved and, yes, find out all that is already
known and more. The big difference in achieving the desired
result is that the Interim does not tell you what you should
do and walks away leaving it to you but is deeply
involved in the implementation.
Will the Interim change the
personnel?
Not usually, as this removes knowledge and experience. I
have found it better to work to change behaviour than
personnel.
Will the solution fit our company or will the Interim try to
fit our company into a solution?
Only the inexperienced deliver common solutions.
How is it in the Interim's interest to leave the job at the
right time and not try to extend to increase earnings?
No. Both parties realise when the
assignment is complete.
