Antique Dolls Hospital
At one time there was a dolls hospital in every major town or
city, but sadly these have disappeared one by one as manufacturers have
followed the trend towards more disposable materials.
We are pleased to offer
complete restoration (where possible) of antique china and bisque headed dolls. |

VALUATIONS
Frequently
there is confusion about what a valuation really means. It’s meaning is
determined by the purpose for which it is required. The three types of
valuation that we are asked to provide are: -
|
|
1. Insurance
(Replacement Cost)
2. Probate (Value if sold)
3. Selling (What we would pay)
In any valuation each item is carefully
identified, researched and described. The appraiser notes references to
current publications and latest saleroom prices.

We act as local agents for:-
SafeGuard Quality Assurance Ltd
All valuations for Insurance
requiring Certification for Insurers, and
All valuations for Probate
requiring Certification for the Court of Probate
are carried out by :-
SafeGuard Quality Assurance Ltd.
SafeGuard is the best-known jewellery valuation brand in the UK and has been for more than 20 years. As a wholly owned subsidiary of The Birmingham Assay Office.
SafeGuard is completely independent and has no vested interest in the value of any item. Your valuation fee will be fixed and there will be no surprises.
In the event that any of your items be lost or stolen after valuation the details can (at your option) be posted on the SafeGuard Loss Register which can be accessed by all Police forces and Insurers and traced back to you (the owner) if and when they are subsequently recovered.

VALUATION
FOR PROBATE
Probate Valuations are independent specialist
assessments of the net value of a deceased's estate. Often, more than one
valuer will be required to accurately determine this figure, e.g. Estate
Agent for Property, Stockbroker for Stocks & Shares, Accountant for
Financial Matters and Antique Dealers for Household & Personal Effects. A
deceased's estate is not available to the beneficiaries until probate is
granted.
We sympathetically help the bereaved
and/or executors with the sensitive task of valuing the deceased's estate.
If, after Probate is granted, the items valued, are
bought by us at valuation we are happy to refund the valuation fee charged.

|
VALUATION FOR INSURANCE
Valuation for
insurance purposes provides an independent specialist assessment of
replacement cost for a particular article, which the owner has, or intends
to insure against loss or damage.
Insurers will require a Certificate of Insurance Valuation together with photograph(s) of each
item(s) valued.
Our records will contain duplicates, so that in any
unfortunate event you will not have to worry about the paperwork.
One telephone
call to us, and we will swiftly furnish you with the appropriate duplicate
documentation.
Fees available on application. |
|
VALUATION FOR
SALE
Valuation for sale will differ
substantially from Valuation for Insurance because the sale price will not include Value Added Tax nor reseller profit margin. This type of valuation is
similar to a Probate Valuation
required because a particular item is to be sold, or because there has been a
domestic dispute and the joint owners want to dissolve the partnership and
"settle up" with one another.

|
We
are always pleased to see clients at our showrooms.
It is
advisable to make an appointment by telephone
prior to your visit to
ensure that a valuer will be available when you arrive and to avoid your needing to wait.
