Bumblies meet the Sheffield Mafia
This was a whole new experience. We'd only just sat down, I was busy rolling a ciggy and enjoying the view when I heard someone say: "who fancies seconding an E1." I let them get on with it. Alex on Monochrome Man again Enlarge
While Alex and Duncan kept themselves busy on Monochrome Man, Chis and Dim headed over to do a great looking route which, without a doubt, sported the best name on the crag. The Hairiest (E1 5b, 5c) was a two pitch classic of the crag according to the keenies. Enlarge
Dim hanging out and enjoying the view after the strenous 5b traverse on The Hairiest. I don't think he knew I was there, but you can never be sure with climbers that wear muscle vests... Enlarge
Alex high up on Clorophyll Cluster (E1 5b) which I seem to remember him saying was the best route of the day. Enlarge
Not that he's competitive but I think Alex said something along the lines of: "Bollocks am I gonna let Chis outdo me today," and promptly set off up Finesse with Dunc in tow. If it hadn't taken him about a day and a half to finish the route, I would have been quite impressed. Enlarge
Next day saw a visit to Carn Barra, where a few routes were done. This is Alex on the fantastic looking Sunny Corner Lane (E3 5c). My camera ran out of batteries here and I missed a shot of the worlds most perfect hand jam. Enlarge
Sunny Corner Lane again. I actually did a route here, as well, but only because it had the threat of rock fall and was called Amen Corner (E1 5a) which reminded me of Gimmer. Enlarge
Pordenack Point is one of the more remote Cornwall Cliffs, but was strangely busy when we were there. This is Chis getting to grips (and having a good old gurn) on Vietnamerica (E1 5b). Enlarge
Alex approaching the top of Vietnamerica after Chis had put him through 'protection extraction hell.' Meanwhile Chis was giggling happily at the top, safe in the knowledge that none of it was his. Enlarge
Stone Boom again. Now all that was left for us to do was to complete a few hours of heavy relaxation, followed by a morning of cornish pasty shopping in St Ives. Enlarge
