BOKOP Information Systems Ltd - Home Page
This page is a place holder for an as yet undeveloped web site to be used for self-training and exploration of facilities purposes.
Pointers from this site merely reflect the interests from time to time of Simon Borthwick, owner of, and sole consultant with, the company.
Such tags are not to be relied on to be up-to-date, to be present again in the unlikely event that you come back here, nor to represent any attempt to be a service to readers.
In line with this I have not deliberately broadcast the url or registered with any search engines.
For the time being, and the foreseeable future, these pages will be free of Java and ActiveX features.
- Firstly I don't expect to have either the time or requirement to develop these items.
A few ready made toys (like counters e.g.) may appear from time to time.
- Secondly I disapprove of the concept of enabling viewers to run unknown programs in their PCs.
This policy was laid down in 1997; I still disapprove of running unknown client side programs but the world has moved on and security is beginning to approach acceptable (for some quite limited value of the concept) so I may experiment with these things just to see how to make them work/safe, and to better allow me to control them when used by sites I need to deal with. Such experiments will be clearly marked, if possible before you reach the relevant page.
There probably won't be much by way of CGI scripts either because I don't know what facilities the current ISP (BTOpenWorld - or whatever this month's branding might be) provide to web space owners.
Prepared using Notepad under Win95/WinME.
