Direct Debit System

The Direct Debit System allows you to process all direct debit and direct credit transactions via a telecommunications link to BACS. It also provides a full audit trail of all communications to and from BACS.

The current average bank charge for processing a cheque is 80p, compared with only 16p for processing a direct debit. Therefore, there are massive savings to be made by processing transactions by direct debits.

The DDS*2000 system is a multi-company, multi-branch system which allows the user to set-up and maintain Mandates for payment or collection.

The DDS*2000 system has been a BACS approved system for over 10 years. Therefore, it is a well established and stable system for both small and large organisations.

The DDS*2000 system allows the user to maintain and transmit direct debit and/or direct credit mandates to BACS via a telecommunications line. The system also includes the additional modules of AUDDIS and ADDACS.

AUDDIS (Automated Direct Debit Instruction Service) allows the passing of Direct Debit Instructions electronically between the Originators and the Paying Banks via BACS.

ADDACS (Automated Direct Debit Amendment & Cancellation Service) is used for passing messages from the Paying Banks to the Originator's bank relating to amendments and cancellations of Direct Debit Instructions.

The transmission control section is available separately as BACS*2000 for users who want to transmit directly to BACS from their existing applications. Binary can easily integrate this solution to suit your exact requirements.

Data is transmitted to BACS using the Bisynchronous Communications protocol (BSC) otherwise known as 2780/3780. The data rate is either 9,600 or 14,400 BPS (v32, v32bis).

Binary can supply, install, configure and test a suitable modem to leave you with a fully operational system in the shortest time possible.
