Aladdin is a communication tool, which can be used from
the iSeries AS/400 to trigger any PC program. Parameters can be passed between
the iSeries AS/400 and the PC program. The iSeries AS/400 is the master and the
PC is the server to process and display.
Aladdin Description
With Aladdin, drive your PC office and multimedia
applications from the iSeries AS/400. For example, you can merge data on your
iSeries AS/400 with word processor documents (Word or other) to produce
mailshots, form letters, etc. You can also merge data with files from all
major spreadsheet packages. You can run any PC commands with a simple iSeries
AS/400 instruction which may be incorporated in all your programs. You can
even spool from the iSeries AS/400 to the PCs for independent printing.
