FOUNDATION COURSE A
Foundation Course A is designed for students who wish to learn astrology without the complications which they feel they might encounter with mathematical calculations. Students who opt for this course are not taught how to calculate planetary longitudes, etc., but are encouraged to work with computer data supplied by the API (UK), or from their own computer.
FOUNDATION COURSE B
Foundation Course B caters for the needs of students who may already have a good knowledge of astrology but have not learned how to do the calculations needed to draw up a birth chart. Students are taught how to calculate and draw in the longitudinal positions of planets, Ascendant, Midheaven, house cusps, aspects, transiting planets, and so on. It is assumed that a student will already be familiar with basic astrological concepts.
Included with the Course teaching manuals are two text books - a planetary Ephemeris for 50 or 100 years (depending on availability) and the Table of Koch Houses. If you already possess either of these books the cost can be deducted from the Course fee. See appropriate Enrolment Form.
FOUNDATION COURSE C
Foundation Course C incorporates the syllabus of Courses A and B. Students achieve a comprehensive understanding of astrology, chart erection and interpretation. The two text books included with Course B are also supplied with Course C.
These are unique courses of study, each teaching an integrated psychological approach to Birth Chart interpretation. They combine home study, individual tutor supervision and workshops, though these are optional for students studying for the API (UK) Diploma in Astrology. Students should, at least, be familiar with basic astrological concepts.
Both Diploma courses use identical training manuals but the assignments students are required to do at the conclusion of each Lesson in the courses are completely different.
1. Diploma Course in Huber Astrology teaches the techniques of the Huberıs approach to chart interpretation, and students completing the course will have acquired an in-depth understanding of chart interpretation and be competent to work professionally as astrological consultants. Attendance at seminars or workshops is encouraged but is not essential for this course.
2. Diploma Course in Astrological Psychology and Counselling not only teaches the techniques of the Huberıs approach to chart interpretation, but because students are working on their own charts it offers the opportunity to develop greater self-awareness. Workshops are an integral part of the syllabus and teach counselling skills through personal and group experience.
The experiential workshop component is not compulsory though students who choose to omit them would not be able to qualify for the API (UK), or Swiss API awards at the conclusion of the course.
Students reaching the Diploma in Astrological Consultancy level of the Diploma Course in Astrological Psychology and Counselling will have acquired an in-depth understanding of chart interpretation, as well as skills in working with clients. These may be used professionally, in a variety of fields, or solely as a means towards achieving greater self-understanding with all the opportunities that that offers for personal growth.
