COMING
UP
It’s the summer, it’s hot, it’s
time to be whipped into a wild ceilidh-ing frenzy by COISIR LUNNAINN,
the
LONDON GAELIC CHOIR (and the cheap bar)
They’ll have you at rollicking reels, doing waulking songs on
the wild side and…. enjoying their showcase of fab Gaelic singing
at their ceilidh on SATURDAY 12th JULY 2003.
- there’ll be fast and furious
puirt-a-beuls – mouth music – the
old songs that were used for dancing (we can keep singing as long
as you keep dancing)
- there’ll be new, modern
arrangements of ancient Gaelic songs (Gaelic meets Gershwin anyone?)
- there’ll be the premiere
performance of a gorgeous new arrangement of one of the most haunting
Gaelic songs
- there’ll be beautiful clarsach
playing from the choir’s
prize-winning ALEXANDRA JONES
- there’ll be authentic,
fun singing from the choir’s brightest
stars – including ANDREW ROBERTSON, CAROL MOORE and LINN PHIPPS
- there’ll be loads of great
dancing.
