In the vista of Pendle Hill, on the Ribble Valley side, Swanside is a recent barn conversion in an exclusive development of a handful of similar properties atop Sawley Brow. The current owners wanted to create a room that would bring the countryside right into the house. A modern conservatory would not have been appropriate so the house was extended to incorporate a large window area with the benefits of solid construction. |

Matching the stonework required resourcefulness and patience. The thick insulated blockwork walls keep the elements out, the natural stone outer layer looks great, yet the whole retains all the benefits of modern construction. |
